Snow Gremlins

When you're going down the slope in perfect form and all of a sudden lose your balance and wipe out -Blame the snow gremlins.

When you're standing in line doing nothing and suddenly fall over - Blame the snow gremlins.

When you make the wrong turn and end up on the opposite side of the mountain - Blame the snow gremlins.

When you're heading toward a wicked jump and chicken out at the last minute - Blame the snow gremlins.

When you lose an glove, trail map or chap stick along the way - Blame the snow gremlins.

Snow gremlins, just like Yetis have never been seen by humans or proven to really exist, but that doesn't mean you cannot not blame them!

The World's Greatest Ski Resorts

Breckenridge

In the mailbox was a mailer stuffed full of what they call the World's Greatest Ski Resorts (at least in the western United States).

The list goes as follows: BIG SKY, Montana, WHISTLERBLACKCOMB, Canada, KEYSTONE, Colorado, COPPER, Colorado, ALTA, Utah, BRIGHTON, Utah, SNOWBIRD, Utah, SOLITUDE, Utah, SUN VALLEY, Idaho, TELLURIDE, STEAMBOAT, Colorado, JACKSON HOLE, Wyoming, ASPEN/SNOWMASS, BRECKENRIDGE, SKEENA MOUNTAINS, British Columbia, MT. BACHELOR, PARK CITY, Utah, TAMARACK, Idaho, BIG MONTAIN, Montana.

The Cobra's have been to 5 of those locations. It's amazing how many ski resorts there are and this is only a small list of them.

Buffalo Snow

Buffalo, NY got lake affect snow that dumped two feet on them.
Although snow is good for skiing it can be not so good for other things.

The trees still had leaves on them which caused more of the big branches to come crashing down from the weight of the snow. This took out power lines, blocked roads and caused a lot of damage.

Buffalo said they are used to dealing with the snow, just not so much so early in the season.

Snow in the midwest

According the national weather service, there's going to be SNOW in the mid-west overnight. It's winter in October.

It's time for a warm fire, hot cocoa, a comfortable well loved sweater and fuzzy socks. Time to dig in for winter and read that stack of books. Only when we're not on the slopes that is.

Some White Cobra Pictures

Which black diamond trail should we take....hmmm.

Our rule, we can always take our skis off, and walk down if we have to.

2007 Destination

Well it's decided. We're going to New Hampshire for our 2007 Ladies ski trip. we're planning on central hotel location and then skiing at different resorts each day, such a Waterville Valley, Loon, and maybe even Sunday River in Maine, which is just over the state border.

The Spa at Hotel Hershey was a great success. We even surprized one of our members with a Red Hat Society birthday party at lunch. She got the red hat and red feather boa and the rest of us wore pink hats and boas and lots of red hat gifts. We all enjoyed our treatments, hanging out and catching up with each other.
